  9. Stir in 3 cups of the flour and the ground and toasted oats.
  10. Gradually add the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, mixing until a slightly sticky dough forms.
  11. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, adding more flour as needed to prevent sticking.
  12. Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.

  20. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until golden brown and the loaves sound hollow when tapped on the bottom.
