How to Make Afghan Biscuits
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together 200g (7/8 cup) softened butter and 150g (¾ cup) granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- In a separate bowl, sift together 250g (1 ¾ cups) all-purpose flour and 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder.
- Gently fold the dry ingredients into the creamed butter and sugar mixture.
- Stir in 100g (approximately 1 ½ cups) of crushed corn flakes.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Drop rounded teaspoons of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each biscuit.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown.
- Let the biscuits cool completely on the baking sheet before frosting.
- Once cool, frost the biscuits and top each with a walnut half or sliced almond.
