- Chicken Broth
- 1 cup long-grain rice
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Coriander Powder

How to Make African Style Rice
- Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add 1 cup of long-grain rice and sauté for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until lightly golden.
- Add 2 cups of chicken broth, 1/2 teaspoon of coriander powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder to the saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan tightly, and simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until all the liquid is absorbed and the rice is cooked through.
- **Important:** Do not lift the lid during cooking! Set a timer to avoid peeking.
- After 20 minutes, remove from heat and let stand, covered, for 2-3 minutes.
- Fluff the rice gently with a fork before serving alongside your favorite protein, such as our Easy African-Style Peanut Chicken!
