- Chili Beans

- Chili Seasoning Mix
How to Make Anytime Chili
- Brown 1 lb ground turkey in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain off any excess grease.
- Add the browned turkey back to the skillet. Stir in 1 large onion (chopped), 1 green bell pepper (chopped), 2 cloves garlic (minced), 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes, 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans (drained and rinsed), 1 (15 ounce) can pinto beans (drained and rinsed), 1 cup beef broth, 1 tablespoon chili powder, 1 teaspoon cumin, 1/2 teaspoon oregano, 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional), and salt and pepper to taste.
- Bring the chili to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and cook for 15-20 minutes, or longer for a deeper flavor. For a crockpot version, combine all ingredients in your slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- Serve hot and enjoy! Top with your favorite chili toppings such as shredded cheese, sour cream, or chopped green onions.
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Want to unlock deeper, more complex flavors? Try toasting your whole spices before grinding them, or blooming ground spices in a little warm oil to enhance their aroma. Deglazing your pan with a bit of stock, wine, or even water after browning ingredients can capture those tasty caramelized bits, adding richness to your dish.
