Ingredients for Apple Butter And Pork Tenderloin

  • 1 (1-1.5 lb) pork tenderloin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup apple juice
  • 1/4 cup apple butter
  • Light Brown Sugar
  • Water
  • Ground Cinnamon
  • Ground Cloves

How to Make Apple Butter And Pork Tenderloin

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Using an injection needle, inject 1/4 cup of the apple juice into the pork tenderloin in multiple locations.
  3. Sprinkle the tenderloin generously with 1 teaspoon of salt.
  4. Place the tenderloin in an 11x7-inch baking dish.
  5. Pour the remaining 1/4 cup of apple juice into the baking dish around the tenderloin. Let stand for 30 minutes at room temperature or chill for 2 hours in the refrigerator.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven and drain any excess liquid from the baking dish.
  8. In a small bowl, stir together the apple butter and the remaining four ingredients (Please specify these ingredients with measurements).
  9. Spread or brush the apple butter mixture evenly over the roast.
  10. Return the baking dish to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part registers 145°F (63°C).
  11. Remove from oven and let the pork tenderloin rest for 15 minutes before slicing and serving. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a more tender and flavorful roast.

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Chef's secret: layers of flavor make a dish truly memorable! Consider what a little extra something could bring – perhaps a touch of acidity like a good vinegar or citrus zest, a hint of smokiness from paprika, a bit of umami from mushrooms or soy sauce, or a sprinkle of toasted nuts for texture. Experiment and taste as you go!
