Ingredients for Arrabiata

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28-ounce) can Italian-style stewed tomatoes
  • Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
  • Penne Pasta
  • Parmesan Cheese

How to Make Arrabiata

  1. Mince 2 cloves of garlic. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  3. Add 1 (28-ounce) can of Italian-style stewed tomatoes and 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to your spice preference).
  4. Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. While the sauce simmers, cook 1 pound of your favorite pasta according to package directions.
  6. Once the pasta is cooked, drain it and add it to the skillet with the arrabiata sauce.
  7. Toss to combine. Stir in 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese (or your preferred cheese) while the sauce is still hot to allow it to melt.

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Small additions can make a big impact! Try a sprinkle of fresh herbs, a dash of your favorite spice blend, or a squeeze of citrus just before serving to really enhance the flavors of your dish.
