How to Make Baked Macaroni And Brie
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Butter a medium-sized (approximately 9x13 inch) casserole dish and set aside.
- Cook macaroni according to package directions until al dente. Drain well and set aside.
- While pasta cooks, melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large saucepan over medium-low heat.
- Whisk in the flour and cook, stirring constantly for 2 minutes, until a smooth, golden brown roux forms.
- Gradually whisk in the milk and heavy cream. Bring to a gentle boil, stirring constantly.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened slightly.
