Ingredients for Bali Beef

  • Ground Beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Garlic Salt
  • Worcestershire Sauce
  • Cooked Rice
  • Diced Tomatoes
  • Cheese

How to Make Bali Beef

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown 1.5 lbs of beef cubes over medium-high heat. Add 1 large chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the browned beef and onion with 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup, 1 cup beef broth, 1 teaspoon dried thyme, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.
  4. Pour the mixture into a greased 2-quart casserole dish.
  5. Top with 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the casserole is heated through.

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Chef's secret: layers of flavor make a dish truly memorable! Consider what a little extra something could bring – perhaps a touch of acidity like a good vinegar or citrus zest, a hint of smokiness from paprika, a bit of umami from mushrooms or soy sauce, or a sprinkle of toasted nuts for texture. Experiment and taste as you go!
