How to Make Cranberry Apple Tea

  1. Combine 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries, 1-inch piece of peeled and thinly sliced ginger, 4 whole cloves, 1 cinnamon stick, and 4 cups of water in a large saucepan.
  2. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil over high heat.
  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until most of the cranberries have burst open.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in 2 tablespoons of honey (or to taste).
  5. Add 2 black tea bags (or your favorite tea) and let steep for 5 minutes, stirring gently once halfway through.
  6. Line a fine-mesh sieve with two layers of cheesecloth and carefully strain the tea, pressing gently on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible.
  7. Return the strained tea to the saucepan and stir in 1 cup of apple juice.
  8. Gently reheat over low heat (do not boil). Serve hot and enjoy!
