How to Make Cranberry Spareribs

  1. Cut the rack of spareribs into individual serving-size pieces (about 3-4 ribs per piece).
  2. Place the ribs in a large Dutch oven or pot.
  3. Cover the ribs with water and bring to a boil over high heat.
  4. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 45 minutes.
  5. While the ribs are simmering, prepare the cranberry glaze: In a medium saucepan, combine 1 (14-ounce) can cranberry sauce, 1 cup beef gravy, 1/2 cup orange marmalade, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
  6. Bring the cranberry glaze mixture to a boil over medium heat.
  7. Reduce heat to low, and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until thickened, stirring occasionally.
  8. Remove the glaze from heat and stir in 2 tablespoons of white wine vinegar.
  9. Drain the ribs and place them in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish, meat side up.
  10. Pour 2 1/2 cups of the cranberry glaze over the ribs.
  11. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20 minutes.
  12. Uncover the baking dish and bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until the meat is tender and the glaze is caramelized, basting with the remaining glaze every 5 minutes.
