How to Make Drambuie Spiced Peaches
- In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg, and 1 cinnamon stick (about 2 inches). Cook over very low heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and bring the mixture to a rolling boil.
- Boil rapidly for 1 minute. Remove from heat.
- Gently add the 4 halved and pitted peaches to the hot syrup.
- Return the saucepan to low heat and poach the peaches for 3-5 minutes, or until they are tender but still hold their shape. Do not overcook.
- Remove the peaches from the syrup and let them cool slightly in the syrup.
- Once the peaches have cooled slightly, carefully remove the cinnamon stick. Stir in 1/4 cup of Drambuie liqueur.
- Allow the peaches to cool completely in the syrup. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
- Serve chilled. Enjoy!
