How to Make Halloween Bloody Baked Rats

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine 1 lb ground beef, 1/2 cup breadcrumbs, 1/4 cup milk, 1 egg, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste. Mix well.
  3. Shape the meat mixture into 12 small rat-shaped patties. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty.
  4. Fill each indentation with 1 teaspoon of shredded mozzarella cheese.
  5. Place the rat-shaped meatballs in a baking dish and pour 1 (28 ounce) can of crushed tomatoes over them.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  7. While the rats bake, prepare the garnish: Cook 12 spaghetti noodles until al dente, then cut each in half. Cut out small ears from a carrot using a small cookie cutter or knife.
  8. Once baked, carefully remove the Bloody Baked Rats from the oven and insert a half spaghetti noodle into each rat's back for a tail.
  9. Attach the carrot ears to the rats' heads.
  10. Serve immediately and enjoy the screams (of delight, hopefully!).
