How to Make Mojito De Mentha

  1. Gently tear 10-12 fresh mint leaves in half and place them in a cocktail shaker.
  2. Using a muddler or the end of a wooden spoon, gently muddle the mint leaves until fragrant and slightly bruised. Avoid over-muddling, which can release bitterness.
  3. Add 2 ounces of white rum, 1 ounce of fresh lime juice (about ½ a lime), ¾ ounce of simple syrup (recipe below), and a few ice cubes to the shaker.
  4. Securely close the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until well-chilled.
  5. Fill a tall glass with ice. Strain the mixture from the shaker into the glass.
  6. Top with 4-5 ounces of club soda or 7-Up.
  7. Gently stir once. Garnish with a fresh mint sprig and enjoy immediately!
