How to Make Pam's Whiskey Slush

  1. In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of granulated sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sugar dissolves completely.
  2. Remove from heat and add 4 black tea bags. Steep for 10 minutes.
  3. Remove tea bags and discard. Let the tea syrup cool completely.
  4. Once cooled, stir in 2 cups of frozen orange juice concentrate, 1 cup of frozen cranberry juice, and 1 cup of your favorite whiskey. Pour into a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 24 hours, or until solid.
  5. To serve, scoop the slush into glasses, filling them about halfway.
  6. Top with ginger ale.
  7. Garnish with maraschino cherries and orange slices (optional).
