How to Make Vietnamese Hamburgers
- In a large bowl, gently combine ground beef, fish sauce, minced lemongrass, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes. Mix thoroughly but avoid overmixing.
- Divide the beef mixture into four equal portions. Gently form each portion into a patty, about 1/2 inch thick. Lightly pat the patties to flatten.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked through and browned. Alternatively, grill over medium-high heat for the same cook time, turning once.
- While the patties cook, prepare your toppings: slice the cucumber, and have the bean sprouts and lettuce leaves ready.
- Spread sweet chili sauce on the bottom halves of the Kaiser rolls.
- Place the cooked patties on the bottom bun halves. Top with cucumber, bean sprouts, and lettuce leaves.
- Add extra Nuoc Cham and/or chili flakes if desired.
- Top with the remaining Kaiser roll halves and serve immediately. Enjoy!
