  6. Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 cup chopped pecans.
  7. On a lightly floured surface, roll out 1 sheet (14.1 oz) of store-bought puff pastry to a 12 x 9 inch rectangle.
  8. Spread the leafy green mixture evenly down the center of the pastry, leaving a 2-inch border on all sides.
  9. On one long side of the pastry, make diagonal cuts, 1 inch apart, almost to the filling. Repeat on the other long side.
  10. Alternating strips, fold over the filling to create a braided effect, brushing with 1 egg, beaten, to secure.
  11. Brush the entire top of the strudel with remaining egg wash.
