Ingredients for Apple Cheese Quesadilla

  • 1 medium apple
  • Flour Tortillas
  • Fat Free American Cheese
  • Splenda Sugar Substitute
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

How to Make Apple Cheese Quesadilla

  1. Peel and dice 1 medium apple into 1/2-inch pieces.
  2. Lightly spray a large frying pan with cooking spray. Sauté the diced apple over medium heat until lightly browned (about 3-5 minutes). Remove the apples from the pan and set aside. Re-spray the pan with cooking spray.
  3. Place one flour tortilla in the pan. Evenly distribute 1/2 cup of the sautéed apples, 1/2 teaspoon of Splenda, 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and 1 slice of cheddar cheese (about 1 ounce) in the center of the tortilla.
  4. Cover the pan and cook over medium heat for 2-3 minutes, or until the underside of the tortilla is golden brown and the cheese is melted and gooey.
  5. Carefully fold the tortilla in half. Remove the quesadilla from the pan and place it on a serving plate.
  6. Repeat steps 3-5 with the remaining tortilla and ingredients.
  7. Serve warm with a dollop of fat-free whipped topping (optional).
  8. Enjoy your delicious and easy Apple Cheese Quesadilla!

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Want to unlock deeper, more complex flavors? Try toasting your whole spices before grinding them, or blooming ground spices in a little warm oil to enhance their aroma. Deglazing your pan with a bit of stock, wine, or even water after browning ingredients can capture those tasty caramelized bits, adding richness to your dish.
