How to Make Bacon And Tomato Bread
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, combine 1 cup warm water (105-115°F), 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast, and 1 tablespoon sugar. Let stand for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 3 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon baking powder.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Stir in 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon, 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes, and 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
