Ingredients for Bananas And Cream Pudding

  • Instant Banana Pudding Mix
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Approximately 2 cups vanilla wafers

How to Make Bananas And Cream Pudding

  1. Peel and slice 3 ripe bananas into 1/4-inch thick pieces. Place in a medium bowl.
  2. Pour 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice over the bananas. Gently toss to coat, being careful not to mash the bananas.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together 1 (5.1 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix, 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk, and 2 cups whole milk. Whisk until smooth and creamy according to package directions.
  4. In a separate large bowl, beat 1 cup heavy cream with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form.
  5. Gently fold the whipped cream into the pudding mixture until just combined.
  6. Gently drain the bananas (reserve lemon juice) and fold them into the pudding mixture.
  7. In a large glass serving bowl, add half of the pudding mixture.
  8. Top with a layer of approximately 1 cup vanilla wafers.
  9. Spread the remaining pudding mixture over the wafers.
  10. Add another layer of approximately 1 cup vanilla wafers on top.
  11. Arrange additional vanilla wafers around the edge of the pudding.
  12. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or preferably longer, to allow flavors to meld and pudding to set.

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Want to unlock deeper, more complex flavors? Try toasting your whole spices before grinding them, or blooming ground spices in a little warm oil to enhance their aroma. Deglazing your pan with a bit of stock, wine, or even water after browning ingredients can capture those tasty caramelized bits, adding richness to your dish.
