How to Make Barbecued Beef Brisket

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together 1 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce, 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar, 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 1 tablespoon paprika, 1 tablespoon garlic powder, 1 tablespoon onion powder, 1 teaspoon black pepper, and 1 teaspoon salt.
  2. Place a 3-4 pound beef brisket, fat side down, in a large foil-lined baking pan.
  3. Rub half of the marinade evenly over the top of the brisket.
  4. Flip the brisket fat side up and rub with the remaining marinade.
  5. Tightly wrap the brisket in foil and refrigerate for at least 8 hours, or preferably overnight.
  6. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Bake the wrapped brisket for 4 hours.
  7. Remove the foil. Top the brisket with your favorite barbecue sauce and continue baking uncovered for another hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 200-205°F (93-96°C).
  8. Remove from oven and let rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
  9. Slice the brisket thinly against the grain.
