  • 2 pounds russet potatoes
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • Onion
  • Black Pepper
  • Table Salt

How to Make Bbq Potatoes

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) or prepare your grill for indirect heat.
  2. Wash and peel 2 pounds of russet potatoes. Slice potatoes into 1/4-inch thick rounds.
  3. Lightly spray two large sheets of aluminum foil with cooking spray.
  4. Place half of the sliced potatoes onto one sheet of foil.
  5. Top with 1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced.
  6. Dot with 4 tablespoons of butter, and season generously with salt and pepper (about 1 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper).
  7. Place the remaining potato slices on top of the onion layer.
  8. Cover with the second sheet of aluminum foil, sealing the edges tightly to create a foil packet.
  9. For oven cooking: Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the potatoes are easily pierced with a fork.
  10. For grill cooking: Place the foil packet on the grill over indirect heat. Cook for 45-55 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender, flipping halfway through.
  11. Carefully remove from oven or grill. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
