Ingredients for Beef N Beer Crock Pot

  • Boneless Beef Chuck Roast
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Garlic Clove
  • 12 oz (1 1/2 cups) beer

How to Make Beef N Beer Crock Pot

  1. Coat 2 lbs beef cubes with 1/2 cup all-purpose flour.
  2. Brown the beef cubes in 2 tbsp melted butter over medium-high heat in a large skillet. Work in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.
  3. Drain off excess fat from the skillet.
  4. In your Crock-Pot, combine the browned beef with 1 large onion (chopped), 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper, 2 cloves garlic (minced), and 12 oz (1 1/2 cups) of your favorite beer.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 5-7 hours, or until the beef is incredibly tender.
  6. Turn the Crock-Pot to high.
  7. In a small bowl, dissolve 1/4 cup all-purpose flour in 1/4 cup cold water to create a smooth slurry.
  8. Stir the flour slurry into the meat mixture in the Crock-Pot. Cook on high for 30-40 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency.
  9. Serve hot over rice or your favorite hot noodles. Garnish with fresh parsley (optional).

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Want to unlock deeper, more complex flavors? Try toasting your whole spices before grinding them, or blooming ground spices in a little warm oil to enhance their aroma. Deglazing your pan with a bit of stock, wine, or even water after browning ingredients can capture those tasty caramelized bits, adding richness to your dish.
