How to Make Beer Bread Easy Peasy
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, combine 4 cups Bisquick baking mix and 1/4 cup granulated sugar.
- Add 12 ounces (1 1/2 cups) of room temperature beer. (Experiment with different types!)
- Gently mix until just combined. The batter will be slightly lumpy – that's perfectly fine!
- Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Melt 2 tablespoons of butter and drizzle evenly over the top of the batter.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. Ovens vary, so start checking around 45 minutes.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 1 hour before slicing. This allows it to set and makes for easier slicing. Enjoy!
- Serve warm with your favorite accompaniments – chili, stew, butter, jam, the possibilities are endless!
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Want to unlock deeper, more complex flavors? Try toasting your whole spices before grinding them, or blooming ground spices in a little warm oil to enhance their aroma. Deglazing your pan with a bit of stock, wine, or even water after browning ingredients can capture those tasty caramelized bits, adding richness to your dish.
