How to Make Berry Iced Tea

  1. Combine 1 cup mixed berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries), 3/4 cup water, and 1/2 cup sugar in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until berries soften and release their juices (about 10-15 minutes).
  3. Remove from heat and stir in 4 cups of freshly brewed hot black tea (or your preferred tea type).
  4. Let the mixture steep until completely cool (approximately 20-25 minutes).
  5. Line a fine-mesh sieve with cheesecloth and place it over a large bowl. Pour the cooled tea mixture through the sieve, gently pressing on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible.
  6. Discard the solids. Pour the strained iced tea into a pitcher and refrigerate until chilled (at least 30 minutes).
  7. Serve over ice in tall glasses. Garnish with fresh berries and a sprig of mint (optional).
