  3. Gently smash 1 cup of fresh strawberries in a large bowl using a fork. Leave some small pieces for texture.
  4. Add 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1/3 cup vegetable oil, and 2 large eggs to the bowl. Whisk until well combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just moistened. Do not overmix.
