How to Make Egg In A Basket

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Grease a muffin tin with cooking spray or butter.
  3. Use a 2-inch biscuit cutter or small knife to cut out 6 circles of biscuit dough (from a standard can of refrigerated biscuits).
  4. Gently press each biscuit circle into the bottom and up the sides of a muffin cup to form a nest, creating a small well in the center.
  5. Crack one large egg carefully into the well of each biscuit basket.
  6. Season each egg with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  7. Bake for 12-17 minutes, or until the biscuit is golden brown and the egg whites are set and the yolk is cooked to your liking.
  8. If desired, sprinkle 1 tablespoon of shredded cheddar cheese over each egg during the last 2-3 minutes of baking.
  9. Carefully remove from the muffin tin and serve immediately.
