How to Make Farfalle With Tuna Sauce For Silly Sally

  1. Cook 1 pound farfalle pasta according to package directions until al dente. Do not overcook!
  2. Drain the pasta, rinse with cold water, and drain again. Set aside.
  3. In the same pot, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
  4. Stir in 1 cup of cheddar cheese sauce (homemade or store-bought).
  5. Add 1/2 cup of your favorite salsa and 1 cup of mushroom duxelles.
  6. Reduce heat to low and simmer until the mushrooms are heated through, about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Add 2 (5 ounce) cans of albacore tuna, drained and broken into small chunks.
  8. Stir well, breaking the tuna into smaller, shred-like pieces.
  9. Remove the pot from the heat and stir in 1/2 cup sour cream until well combined.
  10. In a small bowl, whisk together 1 tablespoon cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of cold water to create a slurry.
  11. Return the pot to low heat and slowly whisk in the cornstarch slurry, stirring constantly until the sauce begins to thicken slightly. You may not need all of the slurry.
  12. Add the cooked farfalle to the pot and gently toss to coat in the sauce.
  13. Serve immediately and enjoy! (For cheese sauce recipe see recipe #155924)
  14. Garnish with fresh parsley (optional).
