How to Make Farfalle With Tuna Sauce For Silly Sally
- Cook 1 pound farfalle pasta according to package directions until al dente. Do not overcook!
- Drain the pasta, rinse with cold water, and drain again. Set aside.
- In the same pot, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
- Stir in 1 cup of cheddar cheese sauce (homemade or store-bought).
- Add 1/2 cup of your favorite salsa and 1 cup of mushroom duxelles.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer until the mushrooms are heated through, about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add 2 (5 ounce) cans of albacore tuna, drained and broken into small chunks.
- Stir well, breaking the tuna into smaller, shred-like pieces.
- Remove the pot from the heat and stir in 1/2 cup sour cream until well combined.
- In a small bowl, whisk together 1 tablespoon cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of cold water to create a slurry.
- Return the pot to low heat and slowly whisk in the cornstarch slurry, stirring constantly until the sauce begins to thicken slightly. You may not need all of the slurry.
- Add the cooked farfalle to the pot and gently toss to coat in the sauce.
- Serve immediately and enjoy! (For cheese sauce recipe see recipe #155924)
- Garnish with fresh parsley (optional).
