How to Make Ham And Broccoli Strata

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 13x9x2-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine 2 cups chopped cooked broccoli florets, 1 1/2 cups diced cooked ham, and 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese.
  3. Spread half of the broccoli-ham-cheese mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  4. Arrange 6-8 slices of bread (about 1/2 loaf) over the mixture in the baking dish.
  5. Top with the remaining broccoli-ham-cheese mixture.
  6. In a separate large bowl, whisk together 6 large eggs, 1 1/2 cups milk, 1 tablespoon onion flakes, 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard, and 1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce (or to taste).
  7. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the strata.
  8. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon paprika over the top.
  9. Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
  10. Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes, or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean and the strata is golden brown and set.
  11. Let stand for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
