How to Make Homemade Sweet Chilli Jam

  1. Roughly chop 200g red chilies, 1 large red onion, and 4 cloves of garlic.
  2. Place the chopped chilies, onion, and garlic in a food processor. Process until you achieve a rough paste.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat.
  4. Add the chili mixture to the saucepan and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened but not browned.
  5. Add 200g of granulated sugar and 100ml of rice vinegar (or white wine vinegar). Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves completely.
  6. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the jam has thickened and become syrupy, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
