How to Make Hot Pepper Jam For Bread Machine

  1. Wash all peppers thoroughly and remove stems.
  2. Remove membranes and seeds from bell peppers. Dice into small 1/8-inch pieces (about 2 1/4 cups total).
  3. Wear rubber gloves when handling jalapeño peppers. For extra heat, leave the seeds in; for milder heat, remove some or all seeds (see tip below).
  4. **Tip:** For a medium spice level, deseed ¾ of each jalapeño pepper and leave the seeds in ¼.
  5. Dice jalapeño peppers into small 1/8-inch pieces.
  6. Attach the kneading blade to your bread machine pan.
  7. Add all ingredients (listed below) to the bread pan.
  8. Carefully place the bread pan into the bread machine. Close the lid, select the jam setting, and start the machine.
  9. Once the jam cycle is complete, carefully remove the hot bread pan using oven mitts.
  10. Let the jam cool completely.
  11. Using oven mitts and a rubber spatula, transfer the jam to sterilized glass or plastic containers.
  12. Cover and refrigerate for at least 24 hours to allow the jam to set.
