How to Make Salmon Fillet With Soy Glaze

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. Line a broiler pan with foil and lightly oil the rack.
  3. In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup soy sauce and 1/4 cup maple syrup. Simmer over medium heat until reduced to 1/3 cup (about 5-7 minutes), stirring occasionally.
  4. Pat 2 (6-ounce) salmon fillets dry and arrange skin-side down on the prepared broiler pan rack.
  5. Reserve 1 1/2 tablespoons of the glaze in a small bowl for later.
  6. Brush the salmon fillets generously with the remaining glaze.
  7. Let the salmon stand for 5 minutes, then brush with more glaze.
  8. Roast in the middle of the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  9. Turn on the broiler. Brush the salmon with the remaining glaze and broil 4-5 inches from the heat until cooked through (3-5 minutes), watching carefully to prevent burning.
  10. Transfer the salmon fillets to a platter using two wide spatulas. Brush with the reserved glaze using a clean brush.
