How to Make Southwest Spiced Tea Punch

  1. In a large non-reactive pot, bring 8 cups of water to a boil. Add 4 black tea bags, 2 cinnamon sticks, zest of 1 orange and 1 lemon, 10 whole cloves, and 1/2 cup chopped opal basil.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the tea and spices to infuse. Remove from heat and let steep for another 5 minutes.
  3. Strain the tea mixture into a punch bowl containing an ice ring (prepare ahead of time by freezing water in a suitable mold).
  4. Add 1 cup orange juice, 1/2 cup lemon juice, and 1/2 cup sugar (or to taste). Stir until sugar is fully dissolved.
  5. Garnish with orange and lemon slices and extra opal basil sprigs (optional).
