How to Make Tagarini
- Cook 1 pound of noodles according to package directions; drain well.
- Place the cooked noodles in a large bowl.
- Brown 1 pound of ground hamburger in a skillet over medium-high heat; drain off any excess grease.
- Add the browned hamburger to the bowl with the noodles.
- Sauté 1 medium onion and 1 green bell pepper, chopped, in 1 tablespoon of oil until softened (about 5 minutes).
- Add the sautéed onions and peppers to the noodle mixture.
- Add the remaining ingredients (see below) to the bowl, except the bread crumbs and cheese. Stir well to combine.
- Pour the mixture into a large greased casserole dish (approximately 9x13 inches).
- Bake uncovered at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes.
- Sprinkle evenly with 1 cup of breadcrumbs and 1 cup of shredded cheese.
- Continue baking for another 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- If freezing leftovers, let cool completely, then transfer to a disposable aluminum pan, seal tightly in a freezer bag, and freeze for up to 3 months. Add breadcrumbs and cheese after reheating.
