How to Make Warm Honey Cake
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Grease and flour a 20cm round baking dish.
- In a large bowl, sift together 150g plain flour and 2 tsp baking powder.
- Add 100g granulated sugar to the flour mixture and whisk to combine.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 large egg and 100ml milk.
- Add the egg mixture and 3 tablespoons (45g) melted margarine to the dry ingredients. Gently fold until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the cake is baking, melt 50g honey and 3 tablespoons (45g) margarine in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir until smooth.
- Once the cake is baked, immediately pour the warm honey-margarine mixture evenly over the top.
- Let the cake cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
