Como fazer Pasties

  1. Preheat your oven to 160°C (fan-forced) or 180°C (conventional).
  2. Gently thaw your store-bought shortcrust pastry sheets.
  3. Using a large dinner plate as a guide, cut out 5 circles from each pastry sheet.
  4. In a large bowl, thoroughly combine all filling ingredients (see below). Divide the mixture into 5 equal portions.
  5. Place one portion of the filling in the center of each pastry circle. Brush the edges of the pastry with water.
  6. Fold the pastry over the filling to form a half-moon shape, crimping the edges firmly to seal.
  7. Place the pasties onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with a beaten egg or milk glaze.
  8. Use a sharp knife to cut a small slit in the top of each pasty to allow steam to escape.
  9. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the pasties are golden brown and the filling is cooked through. Let them cool slightly before serving.
