How to Make Apple Butter Ribs Crock Pot
- Pat 3 lbs pork ribs dry with paper towels. Rub generously with 1 tbsp salt and 1 tsp black pepper.
- Place ribs in the bottom of your slow cooker.
- Top ribs with 1 large onion, thinly sliced.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together 1 cup apple butter, 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 2 tbsp Dijon mustard, 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, and 1 tsp smoked paprika.
- Pour the apple butter mixture evenly over the onions and ribs.
- Cover and cook on low for 9 hours, or until the ribs are incredibly tender and easily pull apart.
- Remove ribs from crock pot and shred with two forks. Optional: return shredded ribs to crock pot for 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
