Ingredients for Apple Flapjacks
- 2 medium apples (peeled, cored, and chopped)

- 50g (1/4 cup) unsalted butter

How to Make Apple Flapjacks
- Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
- In a small saucepan, combine 2 medium apples (peeled, cored, and chopped), 1 tablespoon lemon juice, and 2 tablespoons water.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, or until apples are soft. Mash with a fork until smooth.
- In a separate saucepan, melt 50g (1/4 cup) unsalted butter over low heat. Stir in 50g (1/4 cup) brown sugar and 2 tablespoons golden syrup. Do not boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in 150g (1 1/2 cups) rolled oats, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
- Press half of the oat mixture into an 8-inch (20cm) square baking tin.
- Spread the mashed apple mixture evenly over the oat base.
- Top with the remaining oat mixture, pressing gently to compact.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Let cool completely in the tin before cutting into squares.
