How to Make Bacon And Blue Burgers
- In a large bowl, gently combine 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend recommended), 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, 1 tsp salt, and 1/2 tsp black pepper. Form into 8 equal-sized patties.
- In a separate bowl, crumble 4 slices bacon and mix with 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese. Divide this mixture evenly among 4 of the patties.
- Top each bacon and blue cheese patty with a remaining plain patty. Gently press the edges to seal completely.
- Cook the burgers to your desired doneness. Grill over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes per side, or pan-fry in a lightly oiled skillet over medium-high heat for the same amount of time. For broiling, place 4 inches from the heat source and cook for 4-5 minutes per side. Use a meat thermometer to ensure they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
- Serve immediately on your favorite buns with your choice of toppings.
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Chef's secret: layers of flavor make a dish truly memorable! Consider what a little extra something could bring – perhaps a touch of acidity like a good vinegar or citrus zest, a hint of smokiness from paprika, a bit of umami from mushrooms or soy sauce, or a sprinkle of toasted nuts for texture. Experiment and taste as you go!
