How to Make Bacon And Egg Breakfast Baskets

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Cut off the top of each bun, reserving the lids. Gently hollow out the buns, leaving a ½-inch thick shell.
  3. Cook 4 slices bacon until crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess grease.
  4. Chop cooked bacon into small pieces. Saute ½ a medium onion (finely chopped) in the bacon grease until softened.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons melted butter and 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce.
  6. Brush the inside of each bun with half of the butter mixture.
  7. Crack 1 egg into each prepared bun.
  8. Spoon the bacon and onion mixture evenly over the eggs.
  9. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
  10. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon grated cheddar cheese (or cheese of your choice) per bun.
  11. Replace the bun lids.
  12. Brush the tops of the buns with the remaining butter mixture.
  13. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the eggs are cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  14. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy hot or cold!
