How to Make Bacon Bagel Cheese Sandwich

  1. Cook bacon in the microwave according to package directions, or cook in a pan until crispy. Set aside.
  2. If using sausage, cook according to package directions. Set aside.
  3. Toast the bagel to your desired level of crispness.
  4. Spread softened butter evenly on both halves of the toasted bagel.
  5. Add your choice of cooked bacon and/or sausage to the bottom half of the bagel.
  6. If using, spread mustard on top of the meat.
  7. Place cheese slices on top of the meat.
  8. Carefully place the top half of the bagel on to complete the sandwich.
  9. Microwave for 30-45 seconds, or until the cheese is melted and gooey. Alternatively, you can gently heat the whole sandwich in a toaster oven for 2-3 minutes.
