How to Make Citrus Jasmine Rice

  1. Rinse 1 cup of jasmine rice thoroughly under cold water until the water runs clear. Drain well.
  2. In a medium saucepan with a tight-fitting lid, bring 1 1/2 cups of water to a rolling boil.
  3. Add the rinsed rice, 1 cup of chicken or vegetable bouillon, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, orange and lemon zest, and optional smashed garlic clove to the boiling water.
  4. Stir gently to combine. Bring back to a boil, then immediately reduce heat to the lowest setting, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until all the liquid is absorbed and the rice is cooked through. Do not lift the lid during cooking.
  5. Once cooked, remove from heat and let stand, covered, for 5 minutes.
  6. Fluff the rice gently with a fork. Stir in the optional sliced green onions.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
