How to Make Crabmeat Stuffed Tilapia
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Finely chop 1/2 cup onion and 1/2 cup celery.
- Flake 1 (16 ounce) can of crabmeat, carefully removing any shell fragments.
- Sauté chopped onion and celery in 2 tablespoons of butter until softened (about 5 minutes).
- Stir in 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley and remove from heat.
- In a bowl, combine the sautéed vegetables and parsley with 1/2 cup bread crumbs, flaked crabmeat, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, and 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or to taste).
- Lightly grease a casserole dish with cooking spray.
- Place one tilapia fillet (about 6 ounces) in the bottom of the dish. Top with half of the crabmeat mixture. Place another tilapia fillet on top of the crabmeat. Repeat with remaining fillets and crabmeat mixture. If using larger fillets, you can attempt to roll them up instead.
- Spread any remaining crabmeat mixture around the tilapia fillets.
- Drizzle melted 1 tablespoon butter over the top and sprinkle with 1 teaspoon paprika.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the tilapia flakes easily with a fork.
