How to Make Fruit Gobbler Turkey Centerpiece

  1. Cut a 1/2-inch thick slice off the bottom of a whole honeydew melon to create a stable base. Place the melon on a serving platter.
  2. Use a small section of a bamboo skewer to attach a whole Bosc pear upside-down to the top front of the melon, creating the turkey's head.
  3. Cut a small triangle from a slice of cheddar cheese to form the beak. Cut a small, teardrop shape from a red bell pepper for the snood (the wattle under the beak).
  4. Attach the cheese beak and red pepper snood to the pear head using small pieces of toothpicks. Add two raisin eyes.
  5. Cut two small, claw-like shapes from the red bell pepper for the feet. Insert them into the bottom front of the melon.
  6. For the tail feathers, thread 10 small cubes of cheddar cheese and 10 red grapes alternately onto three separate short bamboo skewers. Insert the skewers into the back of the melon to create the tail.
  7. Cut several small, thin strips from the remaining red pepper for side feathers. Pin them to the sides of the melon using toothpicks.
