How to Make Iced Chocolate

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder with 2 tablespoons of cold milk until completely smooth and lump-free. Set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan, heat the remaining 2 cups of milk over medium heat.
  3. Bring the milk to almost a simmer, just before it begins to bubble. Do not boil.
  4. Reduce heat to low. Add the cocoa paste and 1/2 cup granulated sugar to the warm milk.
  5. Whisk continuously until the sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth and hot. Do not boil.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  7. Fill glasses about one-third full with crushed ice.
  8. Strain the chocolate mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into the ice-filled glasses to remove any lumps.
  9. Top each glass with a heaping teaspoon of whipped cream.
  10. Serve immediately and enjoy!
