How to Make Spice Tea

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of orange juice, 1/2 cup of lemon juice, and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Reduce heat to low and add 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 2 cinnamon sticks, 4 whole cloves, 1 teaspoon ground ginger, and 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg. Simmer gently for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove from heat and carefully add 4 black tea bags (or your preferred type). Cover and let steep for 10 minutes.
  4. Remove tea bags. Strain the tea through a fine-mesh sieve to remove spices.
  5. Serve hot or allow to cool completely before serving over ice. Garnish with an orange slice or cinnamon stick, if desired.
