Ingredients for Almond Rice
- Chicken Stock
- Dry Parsley Flakes
- Instant Minced Onion
- Oregano Leaves
- Long Grain Rice
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Slivered Almonds
How to Make Almond Rice
- In a medium saucepan, combine the rice, water, butter, and salt.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat, stirring occasionally.
- Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover the pan tightly, and simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until all the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.
- Remove from heat and let the rice stand, covered, for 5 minutes.
- Fluff the rice gently with a fork.
- While the rice is simmering, toast the sliced almonds in a dry skillet over medium heat until lightly golden brown and fragrant. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
- Gently fold the toasted almonds into the fluffy rice.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Want to unlock deeper, more complex flavors? Try toasting your whole spices before grinding them, or blooming ground spices in a little warm oil to enhance their aroma. Deglazing your pan with a bit of stock, wine, or even water after browning ingredients can capture those tasty caramelized bits, adding richness to your dish.
