How to Make Avocado Dessert Sri Lanka
- Cut 2 ripe avocados in half lengthwise.
- Remove seeds and reserve them for garnish (optional).
- Scoop the avocado pulp from the shells and mash smoothly with a fork.
- Discard the avocado shells.
- Add 1/4 cup granulated sugar (or to taste) and 1/2 cup heavy cream. Stir until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a serving bowl. Place the reserved avocado seeds back into the mixture for garnish (optional). Cover tightly with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- To serve: If desired, pipe extra whipped cream (sweetened to taste) on top of the chilled dessert.
- For an adult twist, add 1-2 tablespoons of rum to the avocado mixture before chilling. You can also divide the mixture and serve half with rum and half without, to allow for varied preferences.
- Garnish with additional avocado seeds or a sprinkle of cocoa powder (optional).
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Want to unlock deeper, more complex flavors? Try toasting your whole spices before grinding them, or blooming ground spices in a little warm oil to enhance their aroma. Deglazing your pan with a bit of stock, wine, or even water after browning ingredients can capture those tasty caramelized bits, adding richness to your dish.
