How to Make Bacon Chipotle Dip
- Roast the chipotle pepper(s) directly over a gas flame for 2 minutes per side, or until softened and blackened. Immediately place in a bowl and cover with cold water for 10 minutes. Peel and roughly chop the pepper(s).
- In a food processor or blender, combine the cooked bacon, chopped chipotle pepper(s), cream cheese, mayonnaise, lime juice, and cumin.
- Blend until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Add more chipotle for extra heat!
- Serve immediately with tortilla chips, vegetables, or your favorite dippers. Enjoy!
Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor
Want to unlock deeper, more complex flavors? Try toasting your whole spices before grinding them, or blooming ground spices in a little warm oil to enhance their aroma. Deglazing your pan with a bit of stock, wine, or even water after browning ingredients can capture those tasty caramelized bits, adding richness to your dish.
