How to Make Bbq Ribs

  1. Place ribs in a large skillet. Add enough salted water to cover completely.
  2. Bring to a boil over high heat.
  3. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1 hour, or until the meat is tender but not falling off the bone.
  4. While ribs simmer, melt 1/4 cup butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add 1 medium onion, chopped, and 2 cloves garlic, minced. Sauté until onion is tender, about 5 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat. Add the following to a blender: sautéed onion and garlic mixture, 1 cup ketchup, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar, 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon smoked paprika, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional).
  6. Blend until smooth, about 1 minute.
  7. Pour the sauce back into the saucepan and bring to a gentle boil. Remove from heat.
  8. Place the boiled ribs in a shallow dish and pour the sauce evenly over them.
  9. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight.
  10. Preheat your outdoor grill to medium-high heat. Place ribs on the grill and baste generously with sauce.
  11. Grill for 20-30 minutes, basting and turning frequently, until the ribs are well browned and the sauce is caramelized.
