  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 (24 ounce) jar tomato sauce
  • Ditalini

How to Make Beef And Zucchini Pasta Skillet Meal

  1. Cut 1 lb beef steak into 1-inch cubes.
  2. Season beef generously with your favorite spicy steak seasoning.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the steak and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned on all sides (about 5-7 minutes).
  5. Remove steak from skillet and set aside.
  6. Add 1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced, and 4 cloves garlic, minced, to the skillet. Sauté for 5 minutes, or until softened.
  7. Pour in 1 cup beef broth and 1 (24 ounce) jar of your favorite tomato sauce. Bring to a boil.
  8. Add 1 (16 ounce) package of your favorite pasta (penne, rotini, or similar). Stir to combine.
  9. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover the skillet, and simmer for 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is almost cooked through.
  10. Add 2 medium zucchini, thickly diced. Cover and cook for another 3-5 minutes, or until zucchini is crisp-tender.
  11. Return the cooked steak to the skillet. Add 1 (14.5 ounce) can of diced tomatoes, undrained.
  12. Stir to combine and heat through for 1 minute.
  13. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Chef's Tip for Extra Flavor

Want to unlock deeper, more complex flavors? Try toasting your whole spices before grinding them, or blooming ground spices in a little warm oil to enhance their aroma. Deglazing your pan with a bit of stock, wine, or even water after browning ingredients can capture those tasty caramelized bits, adding richness to your dish.
